I love this image and you’d never know that there was actually a kids birthday party in full swing not far away in the background. In fact, that’s why we were there. Friends of ours were celebrating their son’s tenth(?) birthday with drinks, nibbles, cake and games up at the lake after school and we’d all gone along to help celebrate. The colours radiating from the setting sun were absolutely glorious and I sneaked away from the festivities with my camera to see what I could capture. I’d snapped quite a few here and there before I decided that tossing a pebble into the water to add some ripples might look cool. I think it did and this image with Nantaux silhouetted in the background was the cream of the crop.
